Sean Meades

Sean Meades holds a PhD in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from York University and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Economic and Social Development at Algoma University, located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. He also serves as a research associate at the NORDIK Institute, where he previously served as Director of the institute from 2017-2022.
His research focuses on language, cultural, and heritage policy; social economy institutions; and community economic development in marginalized, rural, and indigenous communities, and its interface with global/local relations and globalization processes, and he draws primarily on discourse analytic, community-based, and participatory approaches to research.
