Tyler McCreary is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Florida State University, where he is also affiliated with the Native American and Indigenous Studies Center and the African American Studies Program. In Fall 2024 he was a Visiting Faculty with the Institute of Political Economy at Carleton University. His research examines how settler colonialism and racial capitalism inflect processes governing land, livelihood, and community life in North America. He has published four books, and over forty journal articles and book chapters. His most recent book is Indigenous Legalities, Pipeline Viscosities: Colonial Extractivism and Wet’suwet’en Resistance (University of Alberta Press, 2024).
