March is Fraud Prevention Month: Stay Vigilant Against Scams

As Fraud Prevention Month kicks off, Campus Safety Services is raising awareness about common scams and how to protect yourself. Fraudsters are constantly evolving their tactics, with phishing emails, job scams, and online shopping fraud among the most prevalent threats.

One of the fastest-growing concerns is impersonation fraud, where scammers pose as trusted organizations, websites, or even individuals to deceive victims. This can result in financial losses and identity theft.

To stay safe, experts recommend:

If you suspect fraudulent activity, report it immediately to Campus Safety Services at 613-520-3612 (non-emergency) or 613-520-4444 (emergency).
