CBORD is the university system that runs the access cards that open building, lab and office space at Carleton University. Your Campus Card is used as the card access. The SCS Admin and Tech staff are able to manage SCS CBORD access.
Starting in 2024 the Campus Card office will issue chip-enabled campus cards.
School of Computer Science info:
- Check your CBORD access
-
View your current privileges by logging into the ‘Campus Card Web Centre’ with your MyCarletonOne credentials and selecting “Access Privileges”:
Note: If you require after hours HP-building access then please contact the SCS Admin or Tech staff and have the location enabled for you.
The after hours access to the HP building is in the loading dock. Remember you need to set up your PIN in order to use the HP loading dock reader! Please note the perimeter HP card readers use chip not magnetic swipe and therefore you require a chip-campus card issued in 2024.
- Door Features
-
The doors may or may not have some or all of these features:
- Locations can be unlocked by an assigned Campus Cards
- Doors left ajar trigger an alarm to Safety
- Some doors are equipped with local buzzers that sound when left ajar
- starting in 2024 some readers use chips and are contactless
- CBORD Options
-
CBORD software allows for some options. The option [SCS] means that can be assigned at SCS and [Safety] implies that this option must be a request to Safety:
- Can enable or disable individual access to a location [SCS]
- You can enable PIN-number access at a location [Safety]
- Banner group access (COMP-course) can be assigned to a location [Safety]
- Doors can be assigned an unlock-schedule [Safety]
- You can customise the doors ‘buzzer’ sound/wav file [Safety]
- Options for unlocking doors
-
Doors inside of HP must remain closed because of fire code. The CBORD doors default operation is to be locked and opened by an authorised campus cards. Here are some options to have your door unlocked:
- Some doors, not all, have a double-swipe feature. Designated SCS staff have the capability to temporarily unlock a location. The location will be locked if the authorised person locks the location again or at midnight.
- You can request a location schedule and specify on what day and time you like to have your location unlocked. This can be requested via Safety Technical Services.
