What is the Community Partnership Project (CPP)?

The Community Partnership Project is a project-based experiential learning program that connects Carleton students with community organizations (charities, non-profits, and social service organizations) in Canada. Following 5 months from October 2022 to March 2023 (no programming in December) of self-paced modules and in-person workshops on community-engaged learning and project management, students will spend their winter reading week (February 2023) remotely supporting community organizations with the research, planning, and execution of community-identified projects.

Some examples of projects students may work on include:

  • Developing a social media and marketing strategy
  • Creating a remote volunteer coordination strategy
  • Community-based research on social justice topics (ex. food insecurity, homelessness, accessibility)

By supporting the work of these organizations, students gain practical employment skills and identify real-world connections to their studies.

All students who participate will receive recognition on their Co-Curricular Record. Sprott School of Business students who participate will also receive recognition on their Employability Passport.
