Art as Resistance: Black Expression & Political Imagination

Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Artist holding up paintings they have created

A paint night, hosted by Teju, on Thursday March 5th, 2026, from 6:30-8:30pm

Using the work of Joseph Holston as inspiration, this paint night will explore how Black artists document struggle, dignity, labour, spirituality, and everyday life as acts of political storytelling

This event is exclusively for Black students in order to create an intentional, culturally affirming space where participants can gather in community, engage in artistic expression, and reflect freely within shared lived experience. We will also be providing alcoholic drinks and finger foods; please note any allergies or dietary accommodations in the accommodations section of the form.

In collaboration with the Black Students in Political Affairs Student Association
