Program Progression – Engineering Program Maps/Trees

In engineering, upper-year courses depend upon the knowledge you have acquired and developed from lower-level courses. This concept is applied through a system indicating which prerequisite courses must be successfully completed in order to be eligible for enrolment in your preferred upper-year courses. An engineer’s undergraduate education necessitates this methodology of incremental knowledge and practice development, as it is required by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

You are expected to use the program progression map below that corresponds to your current program and catalog year, which is noted at the top of your audit.

*Please note: course prerequisites, as stated in course descriptions in the Undergraduate Calendar are noted with solid arrows and concurrent prerequisites are noted with dashed arrows between courses. Prerequisite requirements are updated at the discretion of the Engineering departments – prerequisites stated in course descriptions in the most recent calendar are upheld. The program progression maps below are not updated to reflect subsequent prerequisite changes. It is the responsibility of the student to confirm prerequisite requirements prior to course registration by referring to the current academic year’s Undergraduate Calendar.
