Seeing, Selling, and Situating Radio in Canada, 1922-1956 by Michael Windover (SSAC: Art History) and Anne MacLennan (York University) has been awarded an IPPY (Independent Publisher Book Award) Bronze Medal in the Popular Culture category. The book explores the visual and material culture of radio in Canada and was published by Dalhousie Architectural Press last May to accompany Windover and MacLennan’s exhibitions held at Carleton University Art Gallery and MacOdrum Library in the winter term of 2017, then the Archives of Ontario and the Sound and Moving Image Library at York University in the fall term. Another exhibition related to this research project is being planned for the Musée des Ondes Emile Berliner in Montreal later this year.
