Acquiring Differently examines the role of art acquisition in today’s art galleries and museums. The colloquium outlines some of the innovative practices that are changing the standards and conventions of museum acquisition. Taking place November 30 to December 2, the colloquium features talks by Canadian and international scholars on new approaches to museum acquisitions and their transformative impact on galleries, museums, art, and society as a whole. Carleton Professors Ming Tiampo and Mitchell Frank will be moderating panels.
