The Arthur Kroeger College is proud to co-sponsor the Peter Kruus Memorial Lecture, Thursday November 8. The speaker is Noel Wilson, lead designer for San Francisco based Catapult Design, a company that specializes in helping developing world communities craft tools to alleviate poverty. The lecture coincides with an initiative in which students in Carleton’s School of Industrial Design are working with Canugan, an agency that provides hand-powered tricycles to the disabled in Uganda, to improve the design of the tricycles so that they are more suited to a rural environment in which there are few paved roads.
The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. in 101 Azreili theatre and will feature entertainment by African drummers. It is co-sponsored by Technology, Society and Environment Studies, the Institute of African Studies, the School of Industrial Design, the READ Initiative and Canugan.
