Heather Donald (B.PAPM ’09) is back in Canada from Malawi, where she was working as a media and communications adviser with the Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations. Upon graduating, she participated in Carleton University’s Rwanda Initiative, working in communications and fundraising with the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Wanting to delve more into local development issues, she then completed an international certificate course in Community-Driven Development in India. Upon returning to Canada, she worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade before taking on a CIDA-sponsored internship with UNICEF in Barbados. Following that experience, she joined Oxfam Canada as a program assistant for 4 months, working on humanitarian project proposals and other communications initiatives, before taking up the communications postion in Malawi. Heather will be returning to university in September to complete an MA in Development Studies.
