JMCE Lecture: Muslim Civic Engagement in Europe and North America

The Centre for European Studies and Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence will host the lecture “Muslim Civic Engagement in Europe and North America with professor Aubrey Westfall.

The presentation will describe recent findings relating to the determinants of Muslims’ civic engagement in Europe and North America and will focus on factors such as the diversity of one’s friend group and experiences with discrimination. The main insights are derived from analysis of original survey data from France, Germany, the UK, Canada, and the US.

Aubrey Westfall is a professor of political science at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, and currently the Fulbright Research Chair in North American Politics in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University. Her research explores the political behaviour of minoritized groups within Western democratic societies.

This will be a luncheon lecture. A light lunch will be available for registered participants beginning at 11:45AM and the lecture will follow from 12:00PM to 1:30PM. Please register below by Monday, March 31st, 12PM noon:
