Research interests: Dr. Eftekharpour’s research interests include a) redox regulatory systems in neural cell biology in health and disease with an emphasis on Thioredoxin system, b) examining the role of oxidative stress in autophagy-apoptosis interplay, c) targeting oxidative stress for therapeutic purposes after CNS trauma, d) neural stem cell biology, e) evaluation of stem cell-based therapies in spinal cord repair.
