Research: Dr. Huot’s research program focuses on the role of signaling pathways sensitive to cellular stress in endothelial cell regulation in response to stress, growth factors and adhesion of metastatic cells. His work discovered that the p38 MAP kinase pathway is a major regulator of actin remodeling in cells exposed to oxidant stress and it leads to cell migration induced by VEGF angiogenic agent. His focus is on the regulation of the response to oxidant stress in endothelial cells, the signaling mechanisms of VEGF and the regulation of the transendothelial migration of metastatic cells.
