Research: Dr. Wildering investigates a) the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuronal aging and neurodegeneration and b) the neurotoxicology of aquatic pollutants. Specifically he examines the redox modulation of ion channel function and neuronal excitability as a factor in age-related learning and memory deficits and the role of lipid peroxidation in neuronal senescence.
