To Access Unix Tools

Step 1). You will need a DOE account, which you can create here https://www.doe.carleton.ca/secure/webacct/.

  • If you are a uOttawa student you must create a MyCarletonOne account first before your DOE account. For some courses the professor will provide you with a course account.

Step 2) You will need access to a license, if you are doing your thesis please follow the steps here. For course work your DOE account will already have access to the appropriate license for the course duration.

  • For uOttawa students please contact Scott Bruce, to request access to the license. In the email please include your Carleton student number, MyCarletonOne account name and the course(s) taken.

Step 3) Accessing DOE’s linux servers.

  • In the computers labs ME4128,ME4166,MC6030 and ME5174 just double click on the Linux System icon on the desktop
  • Off campus access is available please follow the instructions here.

Step 4) If your work requires access to Virtuoso(Cadence) follow the link for further instructions.
