Congratulations to Jenna Sudds on being appointed to cabinet as Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development!

Jenna graduated from the MA Economics program at Carleton University in 2003, and has had a long career since in both the federal government and tech sector. In 2015 she was named one of “Forty Under 40” by the Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and in 2017 she was named one of the world’s “Top 40 Under 40” International Economic Development Professionals.

Jenna is a prominent member of the Ottawa community, including her time as City Councillor for Kanata North beginning in 2018, and in 2020 she took on the additional role of Ottawa Deputy Mayor. In October 2021 Jenna was sworn in as the MP for Kanata-Carleton, and yesterday she was sworn into her newest role as Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.

We are very proud to have Jenna as an alumnus of our program, and we are looking forward to seeing all that she will achieve in her new role.
