Access to Carleton undergraduate engineering courses is limited to students in Carleton undergraduate engineering programs. Please review the following information about access to Carleton undergraduate engineering courses:
If you are a Carleton undergraduate student not in an Engineering program
If you are unable to register for an engineering course required for your program, please submit an Engineering Override Request.
Your request will be denied unless the course is required in your current program.
If you are a Carleton graduate student in the Faculty of Engineering and Design
You can request access to an undergraduate course via the following processes:
If an undergraduate course is included in your admissions conditions, please contact your departmental graduate administrator.
Or
If you are planning to take an undergraduate course to count as an elective in your Master’s program, please email us to request an Engineering Prerequisite Waiver.
If you are an Engineering student from another university
Please start with your home University to initiate a Letter of Permission request.
University of Ottawa engineering students may be eligible to register in Carleton engineering courses via Exchange.
Then, please follow these steps:
- Contact Registrar’s Office to apply to be a Special student at Carleton University
- Send your LOP or uOttawa exchange approval form (from your home university) along with academic transcripts to EngSpecialRequests@carleton.ca.
- Once we receive your documentation, we will verify prerequisites and course capacity before approving your request.
Please note: Access to engineering courses for LOP or uOttawa Exchange students is only processed at the beginning of the term in which the requested course is scheduled.
