Program Progression Maps/Trees

Program Progression – Engineering Program Maps/Trees

In engineering, upper-year courses depend upon the knowledge you have acquired and developed from lower-level courses. This concept is applied through a system indicating which prerequisite courses must be successfully completed in order to be eligible for enrolment in your preferred upper-year courses. An engineer’s undergraduate education necessitates this methodology of incremental knowledge and practice development, as it is required by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

You are expected to use the program progression map below that corresponds to your current program and catalog year, which is noted at the top of your audit.

**Please note: Course prerequisites at the time of publication are indicated in the progression maps by solid arrows (prerequisites), dashed arrows (concurrent prerequisites), and superscript notations (year-standing requirement). While prerequisite requirements may be updated at the discretion of the Engineering departments, the program progression maps below are not updated to reflect prerequisite changes made in subsequent calendar years.
It is the responsibility of the student to review course descriptions in the current academic year’s Undergraduate Calendar to confirm prerequisite requirements prior to course registration.

Effective 202630 (Fall 2026) program maps are interactive, download the file to access this feature using Adobe Reader or Foxit.
