This program can help students in their process to become a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada. This full-time, course-based degree offers paid internships and the option to graduate in 12 to 18 months.

Three Pathways
The Master of Engineering Practice Program offers you the flexibility to personalize your learning at a pace that aligns with your academic and personal goals. Rolling admissions allows you to begin your studies in the fall or winter.
Students can choose from one of three pathways:
Pathway One
Conventional Pathway
You will complete the program over four terms (two years), taking three courses in each of the first three terms—one from each category of courses. In the fourth term, you will complete one stream-specific engineering course.
Pathway Two
Practicum Pathway
You will complete the program of study over five to six terms (two to three years), alternating between completing study terms at Carleton, and an eight-month paid work term at an engineering organization.
Pathway Three
Accelerated Pathway
You can complete the program in 18 months (three terms)**, under the following conditions:
- Take three courses in the first term—one from each category of courses—and earn at least a B+ in the EGEN course and an A- in the ECMP courses in the most recent term.
- Have a minimum CGPA of 9 and above.
- Maintain continuous registration without academic breaks in the fall and winter terms.
- Obtain permission from the program.
** Students on the accelerated pathway who take summer courses after the first term may be able to complete the program in 12 months.
