Carleton Engineering and Design Ranks Among Canada’s Best in Global 2024 ShanghaiRankings
Carleton University’s Faculty of Engineering and Design has received global recognition, underscoring its growing reputation as a leader in engineering and design education and research.
Carleton’s telecommunications engineering profile was ranked 28th in the world—up four spots from last year—and 3rd in Canada, behind only the University of Waterloo and the University of British Columbia.

ShanghaiRanking’s Methodology
ShanghaiRanking’s 2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects assessed 55 subjects at 5,000 universities across 96 countries. The ranking measures performance using objective indicators, including research output, influence, international collaboration and academic awards.
