Congratulations Jupiter Bavington on being awarded one of the highly competitive FASS Summer Research Internship awards!

Jupiter is working on her Bachelor of Arts Honours in Environmental Studies and will be completing her summer research under the supervision of Professor David Hugill.

“I will be using the FASS Undergraduate Summer Research Internship to expand on research from my undergraduate thesis, which focused on revegetating experimental plots on a former construction fill site near the P7 parking lot on Carleton’s campus, using low-cost, low-resource methods. This summer I will be conducting a literature review on passive ecological restoration/revegetation, specifically in the urban context, to build on the findings of my field work last year in preparation for entering Carleton’s MA in Geography this autumn.” Jupiter Bavington
