The festival is at the close of the first cycle of activities of the Urban Imaginaries Ottawa Project. Urban Imaginaries Ottawa’ is an art design and research project that invites the local community to explore and discover the city and its possibilities – past, present, future, possible, alternative, and forgotten.
Who designed the city? Who was the city designed for? How could the city be different?
Starting with the above questions, from February 2022 until May 2022, a series of activities are scheduled to explore, counter-map, and reimagine the city.
The project has been organized by the Urban Imaginaries Lab (School of Industrial Design, Carleton University) in collaboration with Carleton University’s Communication and Media Studies Program and Ottawa Coffee House Arlington 5 (A5).
