For the past year, the University of Alberta has been working on an initiative to outsource institutional email to Google email. This requires negotiating a contract with Google that addresses the obligations of Canadian and Alberta Privacy Law.
Across Canada universities, including Carleton, are keenly following the status of these negotiations as a successful outcome will break new ground in Canada for using of U.S. based cloud services.
