Over the last year, ITS has improved the Exchange email service by giving users more email storage and supporting a wider variety of email clients, such as iPhones; but, we believe we can still make more improvements to this service.
This fall, ITS will be initiating a pilot project to examine Email Archiving technology for the Exchange email service. Today, it is cost-prohibitive to provide very large user mailboxes using traditional methods. We believe email archiving technology will help us take the Exchange email service to the next level.
Our goal for this pilot project is to offer larger mailboxes, while maintaining a user-friendly email service.
The benefit to the Carleton community will be:
- Virtually unlimited email storage.
- Simplified search and accessibility to Exchange email.
