Here at Carleton University there are nine residence buildings housing almost 3,000 students. ITS is committed to ensuring that the Residence IT facilities available to these students are ready for their arrival in September.
During the summer, Network Services verifies that all network jacks in all Residence buildings are operational. This is done by examining each jack to ensure no physical problems are present as well as testing the jack by attempting to log in to the Residence Network.
From the 3,000+ network jacks tested, ITS discovered 178 physical problems and 20 network problems. These issues will be resolved before the move-in weekend.
