As part of an ongoing effort to renew ITS’s email service offering, Information Security and Operating Platforms have been working to move all clients away from the Rideau email system.

Background
Use of the Rideau email system has declined steadily over the last few years as more-and-more faculty/staff demanded comprehensive email and calendaring services, which the Rideau system was not capable of delivering.  ITS has a finite amount of resources, and must focus these resources on the services used by the majority of our clients.

Outcome
Information Security and Operating Platforms have successfully migrated over 50% of Rideau email users and anticipate that the migration will be completed by the end of 2010, as planned.
