Over the coming months, ITS will be rolling out Windows 7 to CUNET desktops using a centralized software deployment tool. Historically, when the University planned to move to a new version of Windows, ITS had to visit each workstation individually, backup the users data, and install the new software. This process was costly, time consuming, and disruptive to our clients.
This new technology will allow us to roll out Windows 7 in a more efficient manner and realize cost savings, all while providing better service to our clients.
