WebCT is coming to the end of its life cycle and for this reason needs to be replaced by a new Learning Management System (LMS).
This past year a number of instructors, students and teaching assistants have been using Desire2Learn (D2L), BlackBoard Learn 9.1 and Moodle as an alternative to WebCT as part of an important initiative at Carleton to examine the current landscape of learning management system products.
This fall we will be announcing the selected vendor and begin to implement the WebCT replacement tool.
