WebCT is coming to the end of its life cycle and for this reason needs to be replaced by a new Learning Management System (LMS).
To ensure the new LMS meets the needs of our community, Carleton has been involved in an extensive decision-making process involving trials of the three most promising systems (Moodle, Blackboard 9 and Desire2Learn), a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit other LMS tool submissions, and the evaluation of all contenders using strict criteria for usability.
Trials took place over the last two semesters and evaluations and feedback are posted. We are currently in the process of reviewing the RFPs after which we will be in a position to select Carleton’s new LMS.
