Over the past five years, ITS Voice Services has been working with campus administrators to switch to VoIP telephones.   To encourage migration, the $75 service fee associated with converting a standard phone to VoIP was waived.

With over 90% of Carleton’s desktop phones converted to VoIP, Voice Services will soon be reinstating this service fee.

Effective September 1, 2013, the $75 service fee will be reinstated.

If you would like your standard phone converted to VoIP, Voice Services encourages you to do so before September 1st.

Please note that the VoIP service is only available to customers located in buildings equipped with the updated Carleton University network.  Jacks on the updated network have grey faceplates and are labelled with bar codes.

To have your phone converted to VoIP or if you have any questions, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
