Carleton ITS service desk has fielded a number of calls from students who received a malware email from a compromised student email account. The email contains a link and when clicked it sends out the email to your contact list. Subject lines vary – reported subject lines are ‘damn’, ‘about us’ and ‘weird’.
Do not reply to the message, do not click on the link in the body and do not provide your email and/or account information.
If you have already clicked on the links in the body of the message or have already responded to the email, please change your password immediately.
