This summer, graduate students will begin seeing prompts to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) when they attempt to log into Carleton University services (i.e. Carleton 360, Central etc.) with their MyCarletonOne password.

Microsoft MFA is Carleton’s solution that protects accounts and allows users to securely access university systems such as email, Teams, OneDrive, and more. Once onboarded, users can access Carleton systems using something they know (their MyCarletonOne password) plus something they have (their mobile phone or tablet).

After they receive the prompt, graduate students will be given a 14-day grace period during which they can opt to bypass the MFA setup requirement. After the grace period has expired, students must onboard themselves.

Please visit our Microsoft MFA documentation page or contact the ITS Service Desk if you experience issues during migration.

Undergraduate students will be onboarded to Microsoft MFA beginning this fall.
