Power Outages – Loeb, HCI/VSIM and SSRB

As part of the upgrades underway in the Loeb building, the following power outages are planned for this coming reading week and the affected buildings, at different times, include Loeb building, HCI/VSIM building and Social Sciences building.
Community members are asked to avoid the respective buildings during the outages and are asked to power down any sensitive devices prior to these planned outages. Emergency power and life safety systems will remain operational during these times.
- Saturday October 20 from 7am-11am, normal power will be interrupted to HCI/VSIM, Loeb, and Social Sciences;
- Tuesday October 23 from 5pm-7pm, normal power will be interrupted to Loeb and Social Sciences;
- Thursday October 25 from 7:30pm-9:30pm, normal power will be interrupted to Loeb and Social Sciences;
- [Loeb only] Monday October 22 from 7am to Tuesday October 23 at 5pm, the following is interrupted:
- HVAC on level 1-2 and tower A-B will be off, meaning no heat or air movement as fans are off;
- Elevator B will be out of service;
- [Loeb only] Wednesday October 24 from 7am to Thursday October 25 at 5pm, the following is interrupted:
- HVAC in tower C-D from level 3 & up will be off, meaning no heat or air movement as fans are off;
- Elevator D will be out of service;
These interruptions are needed for major electrical work to improve Carleton’s electrical infrastructure. Following this, no other power outages are planned for this project.
