Carleton University’s Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies promotes all aspects of the Jewish experience—from ancient times to the present, with a critical focus on the history and contemporary expressions of antisemitism. The Centre is Canada’s “capital” Jewish Studies institute supporting students, teaching and research, and serving as a bridge between the University and the broader community. We are a meeting place for scholars, students, and the public, offering dynamic programming on the historical, social, cultural and religious aspects of Jewish life. Through this mission statement, the ZC truly embraces the strategic direction of the University to “serve Ottawa, serve the world.”
