Sarah Livermore, a graduate of the MA in Legal Studies at Carleton University, recently had her MA research published in the Canadian Criminal Law Review. Her paper Impaired Legislation: Analysing Possible Australian Reforms to Canada’s Impaired Driving Laws examines impaired driving legislation and recommends Canadian jurisdictions develop a method of detecting drug-impaired drivers at the roadside.

Sarah is currently employed as a Research Associate at Westboro Associates in Ottawa and as a Administrative Officer at the Ottawa International Centre for Learning. An earlier version of this paper (Drug-Impaired Driving: comparing the drug detection methods of Canada and Australia) was presented at the first Drugs and Driving Symposium held in Toronto, under the sponsorship of the Centre of Forensic Science in conjunction with the Ontario Provincial Police, the York Regional Police, and the Toronto Police Service.
