Success!

The 9th Annual Legal Studies Graduate Student conference was a flurry of discussion, taking place on March 12th.

The event, organized by MA Legal Studies and PhD students (including Amanda Swant, Danielle McKenzie, Jerusa Ali, Marsha Ellis, Michael-Anthony Lufty and Monika Lemke), examined the broad topic of Legal Exclusions: Individual, Community, and the State and featured seven panels (some concurrent, due to the expansive list of topics and interest garnered by its Call for Submissions). According to Swant, the first panel had one of the largest turnouts in the history of the conference, and the conference as a whole welcomed many speakers and attendees from the University of Ottawa, York University (especially from Osgoode Hall Law school), and Trent University.

Congratulations to all presenters and a special thanks to the organizers for putting together the event!
