The Department of Law & Legal Studies is proud to present the Chet Mitchell Memorial Lecture Series with guest lecture Samuel Moyn of Yale University. 

Who: Professor Moyn is a leading scholar of human rights. Over the course of the past decade, he has revolutionized our understanding of the field. He is the author or editor of numerous books, including Origins of the Other: Emmanuel Levinas between Revelation and Ethics (Cornell University Press, 2005), A Holocaust Controversy: The Treblinka Affair in Postwar France (Brandeis University Press, 2005), The Last Utopia: Human Rights in History (Harvard University Press, 2010), Human Rights and the Uses of History (Verso, 2014), and Christian Human Rights (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2015). His most recent book, titled Not Enough: Human Rights in an Unequal World, is forthcoming from Harvard University Press in April 2018. It will serve as the basis for his lecture.
