Marnie Jull is a specialist in improving individual and organizational effectiveness through the management of conflict, with particular expertise in coaching, group facilitation, communication, and strategic planning. She has experience with a variety of sectors, including not-for profit, university, religious organizations, business, and the federal government. Within the federal government, she has designed and delivered courses on conflict, communication, and stakeholder relations. She has worked to support the effective implementation of Informal Conflict Management Systems with federal departments, researched best practices in leadership and engagement, and devoted considerable attention to public service values and ethics.

As an alumnus of the Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution, Marnie has developed expertise in the Insight approach to mediation through research, writing, teaching and practice. Working in close collaboration with Dr. Cheryl Picard, Director of the GCCR program, Marnie has experience in applying the Insight mediation to individual and group conflict. She is also co-author of a forthcoming publication on the Insight approach. Marnie is continuing to develop expertise in the theory and practice of Insight mediation as an associate of the Centre for Conflict Education and Research (CCER), membership in the Insight, Peace and Conflict Group as well as pursuing doctoral-level studies through Carleton’s Sociology program.

As an instructor, Marnie is particularly interested in supporting students’ reflective practice, practical skill development, and links to theoretical guideposts.
