This event celebrates the recent restoration of the historic 47-bell carillon at Paroisse St.-Jean-Baptiste. It will also serve as the graduation recital for Chieko Tanaka in completion of the requirements for her course “Advanced Studies in Performance” (MUSI 5400) within the Master of Arts in Music and Culture program at Carleton University. The course culminates with a lecture-recital, comprised of 30 minutes’ lecture about the music, followed by a 30-minute recital.

In addition to Ms. Tanaka, the performers include;
Dr. Andrea McCrady (Dominion Carillonneur/Carleton Adjunct Professor),
His Excellency Kanji Yamamouchi (Japanese Ambassador, electric guitar),
Matt Scriven (Carleton music student, clarinet),
Tomomi Sakajiri, Mina Hiroha, and Shiho Fujiwara (Oto-Wa-Taiko, Japanese drum group members)

14:00 – 14:30: Carillon Plus recital
15:00 – 15:30: Post-recital reception
