Myrto Mylopoulos’s research focuses primarily on the relationship between consciousness and action, as well as the respective nature of each. In particular, she is interested in understanding the precise role, if any, that consciousness plays in action control, both in everyday cases and in skilled or expert behaviour, and on the implications of this for questions relating to free will and moral responsibility. She is also interested in the sense of agency–one’s awareness of oneself as the author of one’s actions–and the psychological mechanisms that give rise to it.  Visit the faculty page to read more about Prof. Mylopoulos.
