Congratulations to our beloved Departmental Administrator, Sandy Kirkpatrick, on her retirement!
Sandy began her journey with the Department of Philosophy in August 2005. She is well known for her hard work, dedication, and care for the Carleton community. These qualities led to multi-Service Excellence Award nominations and earned her the prestigious Sheila McCallum Leadership Award in FASS. In her 16 years as Administrator, Sandy positively impacted the life of countless students and transformed the department in immeasurable ways. Day after day, and in so many ways, Sandy made things better for all of us! Her contribution will have a lasting influence on our unit, the Faculty, and Carleton as a whole. Her friendship is valued by staff and faculty alike, and we will so dearly miss her wonderful energy and personality as the first person to greet us as we entered the Department!
We also say farewell to Sophie, Sandy’s beautiful mini golden doodle, who loved her job as a CU Therapy Dog. Thursdays with Sophie was always the highlight of our week, and we will dearly miss her vibrant personality and warm cuddles.
We wish Sandy and Sophie the best of luck as they embark on their new journey of life, filled with fun and happiness. Farewell!
