Biography

Jack completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours with High Distinction) in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology at Carleton University. His primary philosophical interests lie at the intersection of ethics and metaphysics.

He has published papers and given talks on a wide variety of topics, including, development ethics, the philosophy of technology, the ethics of personal identity, and existentialism in comic books. Currently, his work focuses on applying Martha Nussbaum’s capabilities approach to issues in the ethics of artificial intelligence.

Beyond his studies, Jack is a competitive curler and is a two-time provincial champion and two-time national silver medalist. He also enjoys reading comic books and science fiction.
