Struggling how to help your students (or yourself) organize the large amounts of knowledge they are exposed to on a regular basis? Not to worry – this workshop will introduce nVivo coding and queries as a method to conduct literature review for your students as well as yourself in your graduate studies.

Students often deal with large amounts of written material – articles, book chapters, reports – and so do you! How do you retain this information in a meaningful way long after the course has finished, so that you can harken back to it throughout your academic career? nVivo (a software provided for free by Carleton) is the leading way to engage in literature reviews, annotating as you read, and coding thematically. Come explore this in a hands-on workshop where we learn best practices for reading, annotating, coding, and querying all the knowledge that you and your students will be exposed to in their academic careers.

*TA’s are able to receive 5 hours of paid pedagogic training per academic year in addition to learning valuable tools/skills to use in your classes/tutorials.

Register: sign up for by going to Carleton Central => TA Management => TA Training => TA Training Registration and search for classes there.
