Have slouching, glazed-over, silent students got you down? Not to worry – this workshop is designed to explore the reasons why your students may be disengaged in the first place and then to find strategies on how to re-engage those learners who may not be riveted to your every word to begin with.

There are many reasons why students may not be participating in your tutorials but they often get maligned by TAs as “unprepared” or “they just don’t care”. While those two are certainly key issues TAs have to deal with on a regular basis, there are a host of reasons why engagement can be tough for an undergraduate student. Identifying those reasons can be a key to unlocking how to re-engage them. Come explore this together in this 1 hour seminar!

*TA’s are able to receive 5 hours of paid pedagogic training per academic year in addition to learning valuable tools/skills to use in your classes/tutorials.

Register: sign up for by going to Carleton Central => TA Management => TA Training => TA Training Registration and search for classes there.
