Dr. Debra Thompson, a Carleton alumna, holds the Canada Research Chair in Racial Inequality in Democratic Societies at McGill University. Dr. Thompson earned her BPAPM degree from Carleton in 2003. She is the author of The Long Road Home: On Blackness and Belonging, a work of family history, memoir, and insight gained from Dr Thompson’s life experience and academic career in both Canada and the United States. At this event, Dr. Thompson will engage in conversation with Professor Nana aba Duncan and Dr. Jonathan Thompson about her book and what it is to be Black in North America.
