Graduate Program Director for National Security Studies;
Also currently serving as the Park University Faculty Senate President (AY 21-22, Second Term).

PhD in Political Science  (2016) with Comps in International Relations and Political Theory

After leaving Carleton I was an Adjunct at Aurora University outside Chicago before taking a Tenure-Track position at Park University in Parkville, MO (just outside Kansas City). In my four years at Park I’ve become credentialed in Higher Education by the Association of College and University Educators and gone on to consult for them on their credential in effective online instruction. At Park my duties are split between offering courses in international relations and comparative politics within the undergraduate curriculum and both International Relations Theory and Critical Security Studies within our online MA in National Security Studies. I also direct that program. My scholarship agenda has been focused on developing threads found in my dissertation and yields recent publications in the Special Operations Journal and Global Responsibility to Protect.

My experience at Carleton was invaluable because I was given the room and support to develop my own intellectual agenda. That has been invaluable not only in my ongoing scholarly activities, but in ensuring I was prepared to direct our MA in National Security Studies.
