Nilufar Ramji is the Public Affairs and Strategic Communication Specialist at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. She was previously the lead Communication Strategist for NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement. Nilufar’s career includes over a decade of experience in public affairs and strategic communications. Most recently, Nilufar recently received the Johnson Space Center Director’s Innovation Team Award for innovative design and delivery of diversity, equity, and inclusion activities for her organization. Her career has also included three agency awards for her work in STEM Communications, NASA’s Response to COVID-19 and the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. Prior to joining NASA, her background includes work with the Aga Khan Development Network and the Canadian federal government. She has also served as the President and VP, Education of her local Toastmasters chapter. Nilufar spent some time living and working in East Africa where she travelled throughout the region conducting a photography tour, developing a communication strategy, and facilitating communication workshops for 200+ staff.
Carleton helped set the stage for my career through its course catalogue and location in the National Capital Region. I am grateful for the opportunities that my degree from Carleton has brought me.
