Université du Québec en Outaouais is hosting the Past, Present, and Future of Green Jobs: Policies, Strategies, and Alternatives conference, an international, bilingual, and hybrid event bringing together leading researchers and practitioners to explore pressing issues in the green jobs space. The speakers include: Nora Räthzel, Dimitris Stevis, Thea Riofrancos, and Matt Huber.

Format: Hybrid
This dynamic conference will cover key themes, including:
- The impact of economic and environmental policies on green jobs
- The evolution of working conditions in specific “green” sectors
- Transition plans for fossil fuel and hard-to-abate industries
- Different interpretations of just transitions
- “Green” extractivism and its challenges in the Global South
- Prevailing business models in “green” sectors
- Union strategies for ecological transitions
- Reimagining work through an environmental lens

*Note that the cost for in-person, non-presenting attendees is sliding scale from $0-$25 and for hybrid attendance the cost is free.
