Campus Safety Services to host a list of Crime Prevention Week events

This year, November 4-10 is Crime Prevention Week across Ontario. This special week reminds us that Carleton University and the Campus Safety Services are continuously working to ensure the community has a safer tomorrow. You, too, can make a difference by taking time to report crimes to the Campus Safety Services at 613-520-3612. You may also call Crime Stoppers (anonymously) at 1- 800-222-TIPS. Take other crime prevention precautions: crime-proof your residence, office or business.
The Campus Safety Services is hosting a series of special events. Join us to see how you, too, can help make Carleton University a safer place to live.

Sunday Nov. 4th, 2012
Annual CCS Ball Hockey Tournament in support of local charities.
On Sunday Nov. 4th, CCS will be hosting an 11 team tournament with all funds raised going towards holiday baskets for less fortunate families in Ottawa. Come out and cheer on the competing teams or bid on some great raffle prizes.

Lock it or Lose it!- Theft from vehicle prevention
On Monday, Nov. 5th, 2012, officers from the Campus Safety Services will be conducting Lock It or Lose It audits for vehicles parked throughout campus.

CCS Information table in residence commons building
On Tuesday Nov. 6th, CCS officers will be in the Residence Commons building on the second floor to provide information on safety initiatives at Carleton University. Students and Staff are encouraged to drop by and fill out a feedback card. All entries are eligible to win a $25.00 Carleton University gift card.

Lunch and Learn with Carleton University residence Fellows
On Friday, Nov. 9th 2012, at 12noon, the Campus Safety Services’s Community Liaison Officer, S/Cst Mark Hargreaves, will be sitting down with residence fellows for a “Lunch and Learn.” S/Cst Hargreaves will be engaging with the Residence Fellows and soliciting their feedback on Crime Prevention as it related to the residence community. This is a closed event for invited guests only.
